I second that suggestion. When the washer finally went, we got rid of our 15 year old Maytag washer and drier stackable - bought the second-to-largest Kenmore front load washer and dryer. Great machines that save a signficant amount of water and energy. It's the patriotic thing to do if you can afford the additional upfront costs.
