Many years ago when I was still in high school, (35 years ago) I bought an 18-28 Oliver Hart-Parr. When I pulled it apart, all the pistons had one crack in them from the bottom of the skirt going up towards the pin. They were between 1 inch to 11/2 inch long. An old time mechanic told me to drill a small hole in the end of the crack and then braze the hole and the crack, file it smooth and put it back together. For a few years, that tractor got used a lot. Now just a few times a year. I have not had a problem yet but, one of these years, I'm going to take it apart just to check if there are anymore cracks.
