Charlie, I'm of the opinion that the old New Hollands are just about bullet proof and also think that your neighbor is asking exactly what it is worth. I've got an old 490 that I got for free as a parts machine. Know for a fact it hasn't turned a wheel for at least 20 years and has always set outside. I also know darned well that I can have it cutting hay within 2 hours time. They just aren't that complicated. If you want to check something, check the price of a new mower/conditioner. How they can ask that kind of money for a mower and still hold a straight face is beyond me. :>( Allan
