gear/wheel pullers drawn up tightly on the wheel hub; then rap the end while its under tension. THis has worked for me. Also make sure if you are pulling (with hands) on the steering wheel to leave the nut ON a turn or two or it may smack you in the face when it comes loose. (don't ask me how I know this)
