Slickest thing I've ever used on big tires is my Deere 310A backhoe. Lay the tire on the ground and put a tooth or 2 against the sidewall as close to the bead as possable the start pressing down. As the bead starts slipping down stop and reposition one of the teeth in against the rim then push down again. Sometimes a real tough tire needs forced a little with a sledge, but I've done a lot less damage to tire and rim (and back) using this method.
