No fuel pump on this. None in the tank, and none anywhere else. I used to have a diesel Trooper - 1986 with the 2.2 turbo Isuzu engine - it didn't have an separate pump either. There is some sort of fuel-transfer mechanism built into the fuel-injection pump - but I have no idea what. The fuel filter assembly on the diesel Chevette has a hand-pump for filling the filter when changed. Most other rotary fuel-injection pumps also have built in transfer pumps. Roosmaster/Stanadyne and CAV use a dual-bladed paddle pump built into the rear. Many non-rotary in-line pumps often has a bolt-on fuel pump affixed to them - but the in-line pumps don't get used in the automotive applications. This injection pump, called a Diesel Kiki model VE is "licensed by Bosch", so I assume that means it was built on a Bosch design?
