Take the head to an engine machine shop. Let them do it in a controlled environment where they can block/lock it in place for machining. You can probably do it by hand with a lot of care, but if you mess up, it'll be more messed up and even closer to being scrap than it already might be. I wouldn't put any faith in helicoils under compression, although I've heard that it's been done. I'll bet not for long though. Mark
