Don't know the laws in your state, but in Indiana, as a property owner on my property, is open season 365 days per year, night's out. Don't know how close you are to neighbors, firing a round or two at 3AM might start something, and if shoot up, has to come back down somewhere. Set yourself outside before it gets light out so are set at sun up, be out of their wind direction so they can't smell you, and they've got excellent smellers and keen eyesight on them. .17 or .22 calibers work excellent, but travel forever so don't miss. They're wiley and don't like it out in the open (fields and stuff). Will work their way along fence lines or through brush. The slightest notion (smell or movement) that you're around and its zero to landspeed record out of there for them. They are fast - zero to gone in a snap. Mark
