Question for Allan in NE and other red fans.

I have seen ads that say, for sale, 560 with 806 rear or 460 with 806 rear and not being the brightest bulb when it comes to red ones I'm lost. I understand why they would put ( for example ) a 301 cu. in. in a 460 or 560 but why the 806 rear. What would they gain ? I would think that would make it heavier in weight and have faster gears, correct ? Just one of those things that make me scratch my head and say, why are they doing that.
