Narrow vs wide front

Ok...I know Allan is going to stomp me for this.
I know in some situations a wide front may somehow be better, but why do folks say they are better?
I come from hill country, and I know a tractor can turn over. But by the time the front axle hits the stops...it more than likely is too late to stop it from going over.
The lower utility should be used in these situations.
I have looked at a lot of tractors...and some of the old iron just plain looks better with a narrow front.
I like my 450D with a narrow front...and when I find a good 560D...if it has a wide front...I will put a narrow one on it...just my likes.
Besides...they sure do turn a lot shorter when raking and bailing hay.
