$50,000 is nothing. I'm actually surprised it's not a LOT higher. When You look at everything needed to make a precision plain bearing insert and all the machines necessary to make one, and the fact that people who REALLY know what they're doing have to set those machines up and run them for a really short production run of maybe a hundred or so sets of bearings as opposed to tens of thousands of sets... and the inspections required..... And all those people deserve a decent wage....Buying short run parts is EXPENSIVE.... I do it at work every day. I'm actually surprised a really good Tier 1 Automotive supplier would even consider making such a short production run.
