Cash rent corn, and other crops $80-$110 an acre, tobacco $300 an acre, alfalfa (established, fertilized) $200-$400 an acre, grass hay (no fertilizer) $30-60 an acre). Selling for $2000-$8000 an acre with some bargains if you shop smart and maybe sell off some (I bought 90 acres 4 yrs ago for $145,000 and sold off 2 5 acre tracts including the house for $100,000 total) made for cheap pasture. Taxes range a lot as to assesment and county. In one county with a good land, mine are about $3.75 an acre with no taxed improvements (229 acres); adjoining county, with 3600 sq ft house 185 acres runs $1800 (almost $10 an acre).
