Chautauqua County, Western NY state. On my 125 acre dairy farm. Total taxes per year are almost $8000 on the whole farm. You can rent land for $0-$80 on acre depending on the land owner and the land quality. I rent 40 acres of decent ground for $1000 per year. Both the land I own and rent is silt loam with some clay, it grows great grass and clover(5-6 tons/acre) OK for corn(15 ton silage/acre). Land around here sells for any where from $1000 to $6000 per acre depending on location.
