OT for Allan In NE

I one of your posts you mentioned that you have done quite a bit of automatic transmission repair. I bought a 86 GMC 3500 with a 350 and the 400 trans with 16,000 original miles. I plan to pull a trailer with it local grossing no more than 6 ton. I changed the trans oil and filter. The fluid looked good and there was very little metal on the magnet. It does not have an add on cooler, just the stock radiator cooler. What kind of service can I expect to get out of this transmission and can you offer any other advise. Thanks
