I don't know anything about the valve placement on that engine but here is a pretty slick trick to free an over head valve. I have done it on aircraft engines and an F-20. With the piston down and the spark plug out, fill the cylinder with 1/8" or 1/4" nylon rope or equivelent, leaving a rat tail sticking out so it can be removed. Rotate the piston upward and let the soft rope push the valve up. Works pretty slick.
