Tweeter,first off if you are putting the gas into the flex hose coming from the tank, your pump is working and installed correctly if you are getting gass out of the line at carb.Take you gass cap off, tank might not be venting properly. I guess I am making an assumption that you have only one tank on your truck. More info needed 1.Number of tanks 2.If more than one tank, which one are you trying to pull gas from? 3.Have you used Gass Guard in tank?
