I would be really careful. I always make sure that a temperature guage is working on every piece of equipement we have. Esp. with a diesel that size. We had a 6610 ford that ended up needing a complete overhaul after it was overheated and began to melt a piston down (the pump has never been touched on this thing). On the low transmission oil level, I would be very cautious of this. If you don't see a leak, it could be internal, transferring between compartments. A low oil level on a powershift transmission will lead to premature clutch failure due to too much heat and damage to the clutch pads. That thing could just be low because of something simple, but it could be major and cost you a lot of money. A powershift tranny is not fun nor cheap to rebuild. Tearing down a tranny is no fun either. Be cautious of it. If the guages are not working, some idiot could have been on the tractor and just run it into the ground pretty much, even with a new Overhaul. I would ask about the reason on the overhaul too. Good luck Hurst

Elliott said while this
