Jim - I have already approached the local HS on this matter. My eldest is a freshman. They do not even offer wood shop, metal shop or mechanics of any kind. Per the new instructor to much liability. I now have a bid in on the equipment as they plan to auction it off. FFA here now consists of timber cruising, animal husbandry, soils, plant identification and farm mgmt. No practical hands on experience with welders, etc. I see this as a disservice to the students and the program. For reasons I don't understand everyone thinks the whole world will be going to college after HS. That is a very faulty presumption. I guess the programmed at risk avoidance given today's litigous society. I guess that is what it is :-(
