I don't know if this would work for the boy scouts as a project, but I understand that there are FFA and 4-H Chapters that (with the assistance of their adult leaders and sponsors) that restore an old tractor as a school or chapter project and sometimes enter it in either it in the shop class competition or for show. Good luck with earning your wood badge.
