I can see why you didn't get any answers.Unless you have one of the rare JD A diesels,if it smokes it is sick. A fuel/air ratio that creates smoke is way too rich and will make no power and will soon foul plugs. The pullers don't smoke to look cool,they smoke because up to a limit a diesel makes more power the more fuel it gets so they alter the governor and the pressure in the inj. pump. The whole engine is modified to make use of all this extra fuel....Just kiddin' bout the JD A diesel...what you need to do is do some reading up on the basics of internal combustion gas and diesel engines and theory of operation. Diesels smoke when they are making power (usually)gas engines smoke when they are sick(or choke left on) Smoke means nothing if you end up in last place,which you will if all you want is smoke.
