This started out as a 29 Pontiac. You could get either wooden wheels or wire spoked. Notice the divided grille. This was a Pontiac styling feature for many years.
Most of these rigs use two transmissions and a truck rear axle. I've got one made from Star parts and others. It uses a two speed rear axle from what I think is an IHC truck. I have a couple others made from Model T Fords, they use Model T worm drive truck axles. I've seen some made from old Buicks and old Dodges. The old six cylinder Buicks and 4 cylinder Dodges were built really tough. One of the problems is to keep them cool when working hard.
