ford 861 hydraulics

I have an 861 with remote Hydraulics. You can hook a cylinder to the quick couplers. I have a wood splitter with it's own valve and want to know how the return oil from the splitter will get back to the resivoir if I hold the valve on the tractor open to feed the splitter valve If someone could tell me where to get info on the tractor valve and how it functions I might be able to figure it out The tractor service manual doesn't cover the remote valve so I am assuming it is an opotion
