Don't know how far you live from town or what is offered in your area, but I live 2 miles from town, but cannot get DSL or Cable. We use SpeedNet which is a wireless service. This is good out to about 15 miles from the tower if you have line of sight. Startup cost is about$200 and then a little over $50 per month. Another service that has just started here is ClearWire. Supposed to be good to 1.5 miles...but actually working out to 5 miles, with NO line of sight. Startup is like $50 and depending on how fast you want, runs around $35 per month and up.
