We use our 1086 running a hydraulic pump on our sprayer, also running the orbit motor for drag augers. Never had a problem. How much oil does this planter need? If it's a big fan like an air seeder has, the 1086 probably isn't up to the task. If it's just an orbit motor you'll be fine. Sorry I'm not familiar with a JD planter.
