Had a local farmer who had a mostly flat farm (Land)! He always carried a chain or two hanging from the rear axle on his tractor, with the hooks dangling loose! worked great--never had a problem! He sold the farm to developers, and moved back into the hilly part of our township. And used the same tractor, with the chains hanging loose! Well, those loose hooks came to bite him one day. He was mowing a steep hillside with the sickle bar, on the tractor, when one of those hooks swung sideways, caught a wheel spoke---------and that was all she wrote! The chain wound up, and the tractor came up and over backwards, and he was found staring at the sky, with the steering wheel in his chest, and no more need to worry about farming, his family, or anything! DEAD as a door-nail!
