Not necessarily. Don"t know about Farmalls, but some engines of that era had the temperature measurement point fitted at the back of the block. If this is the case, then it may be part filled/covered with deposits over the years.
You can check the water flow through the radiator to determine if the thermostat is stuck open. You can cover the radiator core temporarily to see how the warm-up alters. You can check the actual temperature of the coolant to see if the engine is hot but the indication is wrong.
Not saying you are wrong, but there are several things you can do to check it yourself before jumping to a premature conclusion and possibly changing out a part which is serviceable.
