Has someone else in the area recently dug a new well? Or some other type of excavating? I had the same problem several years ago when a neighbor just up the road dug a new well, he finally had a well that supplied all the good water he could ever want, and my well, which previously could not be pumped dry, became nothing more than a hole full of sand and silt with a little bit of water that could not be used.
