Remove tank, add stones, small pieces of scrap non ferrous metal, water and enough detergent to allow water to soak into the nest material. Agitate tank to allow your charge to macerate the material and then wash out thouroughly? Remove any large unbroken feathers Not much problem with diesel tank exploding at low temps, BUT if ever any trace of gas has got in there .....so NEVER ever worth finding out!! So, no steel pieces of scrap, even. I would probably clean it with a pressure washer! Regards, RAB
