Grew up on a farm, got my first off-our-farm job baling hay for a neighbor. Spent two summers during college working on an assembly line and in parts inspection for a company that makes insecticide foggers. Had a 20-hour-per-week job at a Citgo station my last three years in college.
Became an industrial arts and driver education teacher. Moved back to home community and kept teaching, but farmed part-time with my Dad. Ran a small woodworking business three summers with a partner after Dad retired from farming. Industrial Arts became Technology Education, and I quit the driver's ed thing. In the midst of year 39 of teaching middle schoolers.
