Do you have firewire (i-link)? If so, I believe the Maxtor One Touch II can use it instead of the USB. I have a desktop system that has WinME with a firewire card installed for a video camera, so I know it will support firewire. You should be able to get the card cheap and they can be easily installed. ME can be a little buggy when compared it to my XP laptop. Just go through and make sure all OS, BIOS and software programs have all patches and upgrades installed.
