Did some poking around. An overdrive for a Ford E4OD auto is $2800 plus install. It'd take a LOT of driving at one or 2 mpg better to make that pay. the site claims 5 mpg better, but I think with any towing at all, you'd be right back to whatever the thing does without. Long version short, you might get better milage, but it's gonna take over 3 grand to get it done.

PS. personal preference is the 7.3 tried and true and probably as reliable as a Cummins. The 6.0 is a bit less or a lot less depending on who nis telling the story
