well i work for a ford/dodge dealer so my opinion is alittle biased. all ford oil is now a synthetic blend except for the 15w40. if you chose to stay with "regular" oil that is fine, just make sure you use 5w20. the clearences on that 5.4 engine are so tight the 5w30 doesn't do the job. we've seen alot of engine failures due to that. ford recommends 5w20 for a reason. casey
