I guess I"ll throw a couple words in here. I have a "96 Ford F250 w/ the good ole 7.3, I"m satisfied with the performance of this truck. The new 6.0 from Navistar don"t seem to be as well built as the 7.3L. We have a Duramax at work in a Chevy 4500, seems like a decent engine, but I"ve never been a Chevy fan. I think the Cummins is the way to go. Not only do they have tons of power, but they only have 6 cylinder (less to maintain), plus I"ve allways felt inline 6s run smoother. I"ve heard lots of stories about their autos giving out, but I bet if any other manufacturer put a Cummins in their trucks, they"d have tranny problems too. Speaking of trannys, do you have to have an auto? I think any of these trucks would be better with a manual trans, again, from a reliability stand point. My next truck will be a Dodge Cummins with the 5 or 6 speed manual trans. An allmost bulletproof combo there. I"m sure I didn"t help ya either, just another fools thoughts.
