The 350 will be a bolt in to your truck as the change came in 96 to the vortec engine. The computer will adapt the fuel ratios to the 350 but it would be better to have a 350 prom chip in your computer. You could just buy a Hypertec aftermarket chip and you would be good to go. No need to worry about running lean with the 305 chip as the O2 senser will not allow that to happen.
