A farmer gets an exempted from the CDL rules hauling his own stuff up to 150 miles from his house or farm.
The farmer also has a log book and tag exemption everywhere as long as the state you are in honors this exemption in return for your home state doing the same for its drivers in your state. The next step is a private carrier that has to follow all rules except the authority rules. ICC#. Now let me go out and play the cat and mouse game some more and see how many DOT check points I can get by without being checked. LOL.
