Ok heres the story about the destroyed head.When I bought the truck 11 yrs ago( its an 89)I was changing the plugs and on one of them the threads broke in the head.No problem just get an easy out(yeah right).Well that broke off in there too.So after I commenced to throwing every wrench I own across the yard(just a couple really)my buddy said calm down Ill call my friend.He comes over and ask for my torch,unplugs the coil wire and tells me to get on the ignition key.He begins to heat the easy out and plug threads and when they get molten tells me to hit the key and the compression blows out the steel.Ten minutes later he runs a thread chaser through it and Im good to go(praise god).Well here we are 11 yrs later.Ive been breakin plugs free and retightening every year and adding antisieze.Didnt do it last year and same thing happened last week,plug and easy out broke again.No problem,get my torch,wifes on the key and away we go.Well I guess there was a little more skill level operating that torch under these conditions.I destroyed the head.
So thats the story
I really dont want to pull the other head even to just change the gasket,the outter head bolts are a nightmare,heads are rusted from 3/4 down to pounding a 16 mil. on them.If I shear one of them Im really in trouble.
