The 3pt hitch is broken down into sizes, or catagories. Tractors are not broken into such classifications exactly. Cat 0 is 'made up' and refers to lawn tractors, not standardized at all. Cat 1 is the standard for old & smaller tractors. Cat 2 is for bigger tractors, around 60 hp is when things start to change - more or less. Often there is enough slop or a built in ajustment to use cat 1 implements on cat 2, tho the fit isn't perfect. Cat 3 is for bigger yet - over 120 hp or so - no set rules. There is a cat3N (N= narrow) which has the pin sizes of a cat3, but the width & height of a cat 2 hitch. This is very handy, see more tractors set to cat3N than to cat 3..... And cat 4 tends to be the hge 4wd tractors. Also a cat4N of course. But the reference is to the size & spacing of the 3pt hitch. --->Paul
