I worked in a gmc dealership in NJ in 1971 and the trucks came from the same factory as the chevy trucks. Some times they would have chevy hub caps on the gmc s. We believed they did not want to shut the assembly line down when the ran out of the right hub caps. Some times the one side would have gmc and the other side had chevy hub caps.I believe they had chevy engines in them by then also. I would be surprized if the frames were different.
