Too late now, but you could have taken a door lock to a lock smith, and have a key made. Old GM cars used two different keys. Ford used one for the door and ign. You can jumper directly to the coil from the pos. batt conn. If I am not mistaken there is a plus on the coil put the hot there. The pos batt connection should go to a selonid. again jumper batt pos to one of the small wires on the solenoid. This should energise the starter.MAKE SURE TRUCK IS OUT OF GEAR.IF IT SHOULD HAPPEN TO START IT WILL TAKE OFF. Hope this helpes If I am wrong I am sure someone will correct me. Stan
