I am afraid I have to join the group that likes it as is. I prefer the chronological postings. Sometimes it just makes more sense when a problem is ongoing. There is also the issue of the popularity of the person posting. On the N board right now they have a relatively new person on there who, while definitely into her Ford tractor, has drawn a lot of attention from the majority male members of that board. Nothing gross or inappropriate, but still a lot of attention. She recently posted some pictures of old tools and received 49 responses before I gave up counting. With your system, would not the posts by this person tend to dominate the top of the forum? Make it more like a chat room from my perspective. Not to pick on the ladies, so what about our friend from Nebraska? He would need a forum all his own. You would have to scroll down three pages to find a post not related to his most recent activities. Nice guy and always appropriate but also popular. Need I go on?
How would a newer software handle that sort of thing?
