What do you have for truck and plow? Salt spreader? We usually pay about $45 for a pick up with a 7 -7.5 ft. straight plow. Add $10 for wings, V-plow another $20 or so. Salting capabilities increase pay again along with experience. Older trucks and equipment get less. Your local market also plays a roll. Many snow belt markets are saturated with plowers and I've seen prices in the low $30 per hour. You need to know what not only the contractor requires for insurance, but what his clients require. Price you insurance out for the winter and have the contractor estimate the hours you will be plowing and make sure you have plenty left for yourself, fuel, and repairs. Also check what hours are the contractor needs covered and about how many snow events per season. It's not easy to find my folks ready to hop in a truck at 1-2AM and spend 8-10-12+ hours plowing, get a few hours of sleep and do it all over again. Dependability is the name of the game, you don't get a second chance with snow. I checked out the Plow Cafe link, you will probably get better advice on Plowsite.com, it's more active and up to date.
