Well, I live in eastern Kentucky and those boys down Tennessee way ain't got nothin on the locals. And, it ain't so bad to learn to take of yourself and your own. The deer feed on private property all year long, but the state (write your's in) claims ownership. So, we feed them, God put them here, and then the State walks in with their hired gunslingers (Game Wardens/Fishcops..whatever name you choose) and declares the citizens have perpertrated some heinous crime for shooting their deer. If I feed them, I shoot them and if my neighbors feed them and ask me to, I shoot them there too. Nothing like working your backside off to watch a herd of free ranging deer eat their fill everyday..and night. I have lost 3 new cars to deer and the drivers door of my Dodge pickup is caved in because one of the knobheads ran into it..while I was going 50 mph. Then to make matters worse, come deer season, all the townies show up in their orange clown suits ready to ride down the fences, bring their 4 wheelers...none of them walk anymore..too lazy...they toss down their garbage, freeload for a week and then disappear again...until next year. I think it is a travesty of justice when the State claims ownership but doesn't keep their property off mine....but wants to use the long arm of the (their) Law to rob people of their goods and liberties over something like a deer or possum. Keeps plenty of folks in a job I suppose. I think after deer season all the righteous state employees of the Game department should go to every farm and rebuild fences, fix the tire ruts in the fields and bring a check for feed and pay for pasture usage by their property...all the wild game. The State is no different than the King's of old. They own it all and dictate to the rest of the people who can, when they can and how the can....shoot any of it, while still expecting the people to provide living quarters and feed for the critters. And, as far as I am concerned, using a decoy is entrapment, no different than posing as a hooker on a street corner. If they want to deter 'crime', don't provide an enticement. Afterall, it's against the law to bait 'their' game animals....should be against the law to bait people.GRRRRRRR!

Today's Featured Article - Field Modifications (Sins of the Farmer) - by Staff. Picture a new Chevrolet driving down the street without it's grill, right fender and trunk lid. Imagine a crude hole made in the hood to accommodate a new taller air cleaner, the fender wells cut away to make way for larger tires, and half of a sliding glass door used to replace the windshield. Top that off with an old set of '36 Ford headlight shells bolted to the hood. Pretty unlikely for a car... but for a tractor, this is pretty normal. It seems that more often than not they a ...
