hedtke auction............why?

i was on harrys old engine page tonight and read the results of the hedtke auction.
when it was announced i talked to the auctioneer and asked him why they were having a auction. he told me to get rid of duplicate stuff that the museum had.
i know they had the only case 150hp boiler left in the world.and i know some of the other tractors they sold they only had one of.
what is the reason for the sale?it doesnt make sense to me to sell this stuff if you have a museum.just kinda wonder.
