Had the same thing happen on my F350. Was it the first time you hooked to that trailer?
The trailer I have has the small round 6 pin, I bought an adapter to adapt it to the big 7 pin, got the wrong adapter, seems two wires are different from Ford to Chev. If the trailer was wired for other than a Ford, that`s probably the deal. Just a guess Brokenwrench
