The timing chain is cleverly hidden behind a steel plate, behind the water pump. Is your's fuel injected? If not (if it's carbureted), there is a cam assembly on the upper timing gear that operates the fuel pump, that needs to be assembled properly. Otherwise, it's a pretty straightforward job. Be sure to clean the plate behind the waterpump thoroughly of the old gasket, and follow the instructions packed with the fornt cover gaskets as to what sealer (if any) to use with the gaskets. Oh yeah, and get GOOD gaskets such as Fel-Pro.
