Compare the pushrod to the others and make sure they are the SAME LENGTH!!! Ran into this issue with a 1955 Cadillac. Guy paid for a complete overhaul and got it back with some terrible valve noise. Replace the bent push rod TWICE and finally decided to pull the head and dig deeper. With all the push rods laying on the bench I found that two of them were longer then the rest, I kept replaceing the bent push rod with the exact same part. Couldn't believe the "mechanic" mixed and matched parts during an overhaul.
