A John Deere Deisel conversion????

I had a crazy, but just might work thought. I have a 1951 A JD. I thought about a increase of power. How about a Deisel conversion? I thought about taking a pump off of a 72-/30 series deere deisel and putting it on to make it a deisel. A friend told me to maybe try putting it where the mag is to pump off the governer. We would also just try to run lines straight to the old spark plug holes. Do you think it was a fair idea?
