I put heat in our 4010 a few years ago. Many years ago the water pump went and the dealership broke the casting rebuilding it. The replacement pump had a port on the top. I beleive it was originally for a early model 4020. I removed the plug from the port and installed a barbed fitting. I installed a Tee in the heater hose running to the tank type block heater(Yes, I live in Canada. )The heater was originally intended for use is a skid steer loader and simply re-circulates air in the cab rather than heating fresh air coming in. I installed a ball valve between the tee and the heater. Everything was plumbed with 5/8 heater hose. You need to be plumbed into the water pump to provide positve flow through the lines. This is how ALL heaters using engine coolant as a heat source, work. The ball valve acts as temperature control by controling the flow of hot engine coolant to the heater. The heater had its own built in fan. One word of advise. The cab on our 4010 is full of holes and lets in a lot of air on a windy day and the effectiveness of the heater drops off quickly. Trying to keep your hands warm by blowing hot air on them might not work very well. I agree with the other posters who said get a cab or a heat houser. You will be much more comfortable and happier.
