Well, it's got what the guy called a "ratchet clutch" on the PTO. Is that the same thing? Like I said, this is all new to me. I drove it around the field for about 20 mins today. It ran, drove and stopped without doing anything weird. It seems ok. It does need paint in the worst way, but the thing about trying to paint it is the loader gets in the way. I realize a 9N is not the most desirable tractor on earth, but it does have the classic N looks and I just need one for a little mowing and horse manure duty, nothing major. I have a creek that runs through the middle of my 10 acres and the sickle mower will make keeping it trimmed up easier.
