Wayne, the way they mostly work is:
You have an item for sell for say $500. They contact you and say they want the item. They say they want to send you $1000 and you are to take out your $500, then send $500 to someone they claim will pick up the item for them. You cash the $1000 check then send the $500 on. The $1000 check later bounces and you or out $500 you sent plus the $1000 bad check. They never planned on picking up your item.
